In the apartment space depot12_59, an exhibition titled “Kyiv Trip / This Exhibition Has No Curator” took place, emerging as a report of the residency period of one of its residents. The space, known for its apartment shows and residencies, hosted artists and temporary residents in 2022. In this particular project, Kharkiv-based artist Anton Tkachenko transformed his temporary stay in Kyiv into a full-scale residency, presenting the experience of forced displacement and life in a foreign environment. The very form of the exhibition emphasized a non-hierarchical approach: the project declared the absence of a curator and highlighted the self-organization of the participants. This format reflected the broader practice of Kyiv apartment exhibitions of that period, where the space functioned both as an exhibition platform and as a shelter for artists forced to relocate. Later, depot12_59 continued to develop residency and public programs.
